Amateur Association

Dedicated to promoting the American Quarter Horse in Oklahoma through sharing information, events and activities for the amateur, youth and professional horsemen.

It’s getting very close to our annual  Hall of Fame, Convention and Awards Ceremony. I would like to take this time to tell all of the Open, Amateur and Youth members, as well as the Board of Directors, what an honor and privilege it has been to serve as President of the Amateur division in 2018 and 2019.

These past two years, my goal has been to emphasize embracing all members of the equestrian community. From reaching out to the Oklahoma Horse Show Association and putting on clinics for fellow horsemen, to actively participating in other horse show organizations. I strongly believe in creating lasting relationships to keep our equine community strong and healthy. It has been very important for me to demonstrate that the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Association is inclusive of all levels and skills of equestrians and that we are a welcoming organization. It has been a joy and pleasure to serve OQHA in that capacity. Thank you for allowing me this great opportunity.

I look forward to the 2020 show year, and will be available as your Immediate Past President. Best wishes to all for a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year. I’m looking forward to seeing each of you at the Awards ceremony on Saturday, January 25th and celebrating each of your accomplishments.  Thank you again.
