Kids Classic Style

Kids Classic Style (1996–2012) stands as one of the influential halter stallions in the history of the American Quarter Horse. Foaled in Ohio on April 27, 1996, the buckskin stallion was bred by Zumbrun Quarter Horses and was sired by Kid Clu out of Tootsy Rolls Redford. Known affectionately as “Bucky,” he was later owned by Thomas J. Scheckel of Bellevue, Iowa.

A standout from the beginning, Kids Classic Style earned major titles in the show arena, including the 1997 AQHA Reserve World Championship in Yearling Stallions, the 1999 AQHA World Championship in Three‑Year‑Old Stallions, and the 2001 AQHA World Championship in Aged Stallions. He also earned an AQHA Register of Merit and multiple top‑five finishes at the AQHA World Show.

While his show career was exceptional, his true legacy was built in the breeding barn. Kids Classic Style became one of the most prolific and prepotent sires the industry has ever known. Across all associations, he sired an extraordinary 194 World Champions and 157 Reserve World Champions, with his get earning nearly 14,000 AQHA points, over $266,000 in AQHA Incentive Fund earnings, and more than $178,000 in AQHA World Show earnings. His offspring included many of the breed’s most recognizable champions, known for their mass, muscle, and unmistakable presence.

His influence extended through generations, including notable individuals such as A Classic Edition, JF Skip N Style, Classic Barbie, Cowboy Style, Hes Stylin, Influential, Shez One Classy Kid, FF Cowboy Kid, FF Texas Debutante, and Bartwo Classic Kid. His genetic strength also lives on through stallions like Classically, whose NN status and exceptional muscle reflect the powerful combination of Kids Classic Style and Miss Bunny Tardee.

Kids Classic Style was humanely euthanized in 2012 due to complications from a leg injury, leaving behind a legacy that continues to shape the halter horse industry. Remembered as a once‑in‑a‑lifetime sire, he remains deeply cherished by those who bred to him, worked with him, and believed in the greatness he consistently passed on. In recognition of his unparalleled impact on the breed, Kids Classic Style is honored as a 2025 Oklahoma Quarter Horse Hall of Fame Inductee.
